We booked a Holiday Inn room in Portland, ME 4 months in advance, but with remarkably lower rates. We entered our credit card info, and thought we were all set. No confirmation email, but later that night we get asked if we want to “complete” our reservation! We click the link and suddenly there aren’t any rooms at the rate we paid for. Our Capital One card rejected the second time we tried, and we think this is just a shady company.
was on site booking hotel for birthday treat, when guest reservations popped up offering 10% off, i unfortunately thought this was the hotel directly, completed the form, submitted my credit card details for amount quoted of ?308 however when i submitted it went to my credit card app for me to authorise, when i went to do this the amount was over ?600!, i immediately closed the guest reservation site, not wanting to proceed as thought it was a scam, however a few minutes later i get an email confirming payment and booking!, with terms and conditions that state not cancellation policy and no refunds!!. This company is not a Scam as the bookings re made but boy they do hide the additional costs and did take my money without authorisation which my credit card company are pursing. Avoid at all costs, terrible company
SCAM WEBSITE(10-04-24 Update - I contacted Guest reservations as per their post below. They did not respond and I have not received a refund) I had to book a hotel in a hurry due to a family emergency. I checked booking.com to find a suitable room for myself and children for one night. I found a hotel then googled the hotel itself and thought I was on the hotel's website. It wasn't - it was Guest Reservations site quoting €130 for the room for 1 night. Only when I had completed the booking did I realise it was Guest Reservations site and they had added an addition €67 charges on top of the room rate. I contacted them through their website form but no one got back - not surprising! The hotel were apologetic but not at fault. On their end it looks like I booked through Booking.comThis website books through booking.com, mimics hotel websites and then adds additional fees on top of the booking. Do not use it!
I regret the day I booked through Guest Resrvations. I was looking at a hotel room for 3 nights for a total price of ?385 in a Travelodge hotel. I was looking to see if I could get anything cheaper decided I couldn’t so went back to Travelodge. A window popped with a special deal of ?304. When I went onto the payment page a clock was ticking saying I only had 10 minutes to get this deal. The price wasn’t on the payment page so I clicked back to check that ?304 was correct. It said it was non refundable but at ?304 it was a bargain so I went for it. Once I clicked pay, the price of ?912 came up! I immediately contacted the company but they stuck with their non refundable line saying they would just refund 20% as a good will gesture. I have ended up paying over ?700 for a room in a cheap hotel. I believe they know what they are doing when they put that window up with the clock ticking. They know that there is no way that anyone would think the amount they quote as a special deal would be for one night only. How can it be. Special deal when it is so much more than what you would pay direct to the hotel.
FRAUDULENT: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SO CALLED COMPANY. I had a charge of €183 taken from my credit card for a booking I didn’t even know I had made. €60 euro of this was tax. This company poses as the actual hotel website. I tried to cancel the booking but no contact details were available for this company. I rang the western hotel in Galway, where the booking was made. They said they had not been paid by Guest reservations yet so they would cancel the room. Followed was an email from guest reservations with a Do Not Reply address that I had missed the cancellation deadline. FOR A BOOKING I WAS DUPED INTO BY A COMPANY YOU CANNOT CONTACT BEGORE ANY DEADLINE EXPIRES. I rang the Western hotel again, they said they are aware of this going on. I got an email address for Guest reservations and requested a refund of my money before I would write a bad review to give them an opportunity to remedy this. That was April 2nd 2025 and no response. A colleague at work told me they had the same experience with the same company. They thought they were on the hotel website and made a booking and had a charge way in excess of advertised taken from their credit card.
They show a price at 24€ for a room in a 6ppl dorm and then charge you 45€ at the end with a small print written at the bottom of the credit card number you enteredJust a huge scamThey also used a wrong adress phone number and email booked through booking.com and refused to provide the PIN to retrieve my booking on Booking.com website and used to oddest arguments to not give it to me The hostel would have not been able to contact me if anything happened with false information HUGE SCAM
This third-party booking site deliberately mimicked the official hotel website's design, which misled me into thinking I was booking directly with the hotel. They charged $60 more than the hotel's direct rate. I only discovered this wasn't the actual hotel website after the charge. Watch out for these deceptive booking sites that charge massive extra fees.
Tried to book a hotel room in Berwick upon Tweed for three nights. The initial quote was ?188. Half hidden at the end of the booking page the price was ?563. Thought it a mistake, so phoned the number, thinking I would get through directly to the hotel. Instead, got an American voice. Claimed there were no rooms vacant for my dates. Offered a room in hotel 'virtually next door', at ?581. I declined. But I then found a room on a different website which offered a vacant room in the original hotel I wanted for ?255. This company is a scam. I don't know why this hotel is signed up with this dishonest company.
Room rate was €125. Charge me €195. Didn’t send me a confirmation email or booking reference. Phone line on website is automated and required itinerary number this to get through to an agent. Eventually I got through to someone in the sales team who found my booking and provided me with the itinerary number. And said there were €60 euro in charges that covered ‘free breakfast’ and parking that I did not book. And hotel fees. A complete scam. Nowhere in booking journey were any of these fees highlighted.
