Review Time
The correct date for the booking was entered. The date was changed during the booking process to today’s date. Guest reservation refused to correct the date and the hotel Meon Valley Marriott Hotel would not help. They have stolen our money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Due to an error in the booking system of Guest Reservations, our hotel reservation was confirmed twice within a span of two minutes. It is technically impossible to complete two separate bookings in such a short timeframe. Despite this clear glitch, Guest Reservations refused to refund the duplicated charge, stating that by completing the booking, we agreed to their terms — even though the second confirmation was triggered by the platform itself, not by us.Moreover, this platform is highly misleading. It gives the impression that you're booking directly through the hotel’s official website (in our case, UNA Hotels), only to find out later that you’ve unknowingly used a third-party platform. To make matters worse, at the end of the booking process, an additional fee of nearly €500 was charged — and to be clear, this is not a city tax. No transparent explanation was given for this charge. We are currently exploring legal action and wish to use this review as a warning to both potential travelers and hotels. From our experience, this platform engages in practices that are deceptive and highly questionable, if not outright fraudulent.Avoid Guest Reservations at all costs.24.04.2025 - Addendum following the response from Guest Services to my review:We would like to point out that we already informed your company more than a week ago of the issue via the email address you mentioned below. Unfortunately, we have not received any response to date.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Was looking to book a hotel reservation in London and the price looked good. Pressed to pay and realised that the price was almost double (written in small print at the bottom of the page) quickly closed the page but was charged anyway. Upon calling the company I was told that would be given a refund so I cancelled the reservation. The payment pending disappeared only to reappear two days later. After numerous back and forward with the company I am now being told that over ?600 will not be refunded. The website was set up to look like the official website of the hotel to obviously try and fool people. The case has now been reported to my bank who are now dealing with it as fraud. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
UPDATE BELOW!Bad bad bad.I was trying to make a reservation. After going to my bank app, de price was much higher so I did NOT make the payment complete. Still I got a mail that the resevervation was complete. I clicked on cancel and got the message that I will get a refund of €77 while I got to pay €390!!!!!!!!!I make phone contact, nice sir who send me to a different department. I was on hold for 35 minutes!!! No phone contact. I wanted to try a new call, this didn’t work. Very bad and very sad!!! I just want my money back.UPDATE: After a few times contact, I got all of my money back. I’m so happy that they helped me.
Guest reservation uses deceptive marketing in embedding their phone number inside of the hotel you might want to book. You think it is the hotel guest reservations when they pick up. Additionally, their rates are higher than the actual hotel, their cancellation policies do not mirror the hotel and they charge a service fee that is equal or greater than a one night stay. Plus, if you have a problem or concern, the hotel tells you that you have to call Guest Reservations. In fact, they wash their hands. Once called, Guest Reservations are not able to help due to "policies and system restraints".
Straight up fraudulent!1) Advertised as if it's the hotel original site2) Displayed a different price on the checkout page3) Doesn't send any confirmation email! 4) Doesn't allow cancellation even after reaching out the second the checkout went through (there's no one to reach out to)DO NOT EVER USE THEM!
Yesterday I made a hotel reservation on booking.com and got the confirmation via guestreservations.comNo idea how that's possible. Only then I saw the 'tax recovery charges and servicefees'. I am overcharged for 755 euro’s on a 1603 euro hotel room, which is about 50% more, which is stated as ‘tax recovery charges and services fees’. I am very sad about this, as I have never heard of such ‘tax recovery charges’. I tried to call and mail to the customerservice, but the mail is bounced and the phone does not work. Please help me with this huge problem.Best, RickUpdate: I was just refunded. NOT by Guestreservations, but by Getaroom.com / pps.priceline.com, both owned by Booking.comI am NEVEREVER book a hotel online again. Gives too much stress. One star review is too much. It should be minus 1.
