Review Time
Update: Guest reservations replies to my post here and again tells me to email them. But I already have, to the same email they provide multiple times. No reply to my email!-------------------This is a scam. I called to ask for a refund. Twice before hanging up, I asked them NOT to cancel my booking as I needed the hotel reservation - unless the refund was confirmed.Shortly after hanging up, promising me they would follow up. Then I promptly received an email confirming my hotel reservation was cancelled. Then after my numerous email exchanges, still no refund. You cancel my hotel reservation then refuse to refund?I was forced to make a separate booking with the hotel. The last time they would email me back, they said their 3rd party booking partner had received full payment but refused the refund request. But the hotel confirmed with the said 3rd party directly, who confirmed by email that they never received any funds.Guest reservations stipulated that I must get an email from the hotel with name and title of the hotel employee, stating they will agree to the refund. But they cannot write me such an email because #1. their mysterious 3rd party agent never received the funds, and #2. the hotel itself never received the funds (which would be paid to them by the 3rd party agent).I had to pay AGAIN to make the same hotel booking directly on the hotel's website. The hotel kindly provided me with their correspondence with the said 3rd party agent. I sent all this plus my correspondence with the hotel to Guest Reservations as asked. But when I sent all this, all communications stopped. They're not even pretending to entertain the refund request now?Since it seems from the reviews that "some" people do get their refunds, can someone at Guest Reservations help me with a refund? Not sending me to another generic email with no response.
I am devastated! I just got charged for a booking I didn't even make! I got quoted an amount of EUR 159.20 and went to process the credit card payment. Then I got a One Time Pin for a massive EUR 463.70. I did not type in the OTP and exited the system and WHAM I was charged the EUR463.70! WITHOUT even making the booking or authorising the payment! How is this even possible?! I am so upset to be told they won't refund me. This is absolute madness. I now see so many others have had the same experience. I don't know what to do because I cannot get hold of Guest Reservations telephonically and they just shut me down in the email.
Total C U Next Tuesdays. They pretend to be the hotel in New Zealand, displaying in $NZ and a NZ phone number then- without telling you- charge your credit card in $US AND add to it a massive service fee and tax. Then impersonate you and book with Booking.com. (I know this because when I realised I was being scammed I contacted the actual hotel and they said my booking only cost the initial amount in $NZ and was through Booking.com and IN MY NAME USING MY DETAILS!) and leave you with no way of getting all the money back- because they will charge you crazy fees for cancellation having read other people's complaints). These people are scum. They then start sending you emails about six hours after booking telling you that the booking is fully paid for and asking you to spend more money with them. So you are constantly reminded of how horrible they are. UPDATE: I've reported them to my bank as their tactics are illegal in NZ. FURTHER UPDATE: I got an email claiming they are going to refund to me the illegal fees. Will believe it when I see it. FURTHER UPDATE: Today I got a refund of the illegal fees. Yet to actually stay at the accommodation. Might still be scammed out of that money. Not sure if these scammers paid back because of this review OR the bank chasing them. Will make a last update once I have actually seen if I have a paid for night at the accommodation or not.
I agree with the other reviews. This is a sketchy business that tricks you into thinking you are on the hotel's official website and then charges you extra for the "privilege" of doing business with them. I am alerting all of my family members about them and their deceptive practice.
I thought I was on the hotel website and realised too late. I now need to amend my booking by one day (in June) and the only option is to cancel. I have tried the given phone numbers and they do not connect / exist. It feels the reports of this company being a scam are correct. This is not last minute, and there is no option to amend. Nor is any refund available. Will never use again and let everyone know.
Total scam, I was supposed to pay 155€ and I found an invoice in my credit card of 233€ justified as “taxes”.This is absolutely illegal. I tried to reach their customer service immediately without success. Hope that something will be done but it looks like I’ve just lost my money. Don’t trust this site!
I fell for this scam trying to quickly book a room on my mobile phone for one night thinking I was booking it on the hotel's website. Price advertised was ?73 then confirmation showed ?110.17. I didn't receive a confirmation email, nothing in Spam folder either. Rang the hotel and at least they had received a booking for me and a fee for ?71. I note from GR's responses on here that they claim "We also require every customer to acknowledge that Guest Reservations is an independent travel network before finalising their reservation". THIS IS SIMPLY UNTRUE, they do no such thing.AVOID!
*** Update*"**What a comical response below. They don't give you a reservation or confirmation number. They certainly don't have have you click an acknowledgement (unless they bury it in T&Cs), and redirect you from a legit website - without the hotels permission. I've been in law enforcement my entire adult life - this is a scam. A well ran scam, I'll admit. What a group of pathetic individuals that are top lazy to work themselves, so try to steal from others. This is a text book scam. I'll be taking further action to have this company investigated. They literally spoofed the ACTUAL hotels website I booked with (I almost always book direct) AND even charged it to the name of the hotel on my credit card. I booked a suite. I got here and had a "mini suite" booked in my name with a $300+ price difference. We realized on check in that was NOT our room and when they gave us the check-in paperwork, the price whoever booked this paid was over $300 cheaper than what I was charged. They added a fake phone number, email, and address to my reservation. The room was booked with a MasterCard that wasn't even mine. We refused to sign our name (since that's clearly a card that doesn't below to us). They don't send booking confirmations and if you call their customer service it says to "contact the hotel directly". FRAUD. Will be looking into reporting to law enforcement.
Promised refund but nothing received After a protracted and difficult set of correspondence with “customer services” the company guest reservations cancelled my booking and promised me a refund within 5-7 working days . 8 days later and two emails sent with no reply nothing received! Don’t book with this company
