I made a reservatoon at Porto City Hotel. The amount raised from 52 to 83 due to taxes(!). Tried cancelling the transaction, but it was not.possible. I tried to.contact but there is no email available. The contact form needs a reservation number, but the email received from Giest Resrrvations didnt have one! Very disapponted
I thought I was booking with Ritz Carlton Santiago from the look and feel of the website which came up on google. I missed the small logo from this business network operation in the top right corner so did not realise I was dealing with an aggregator. The price of the room was was very reasonable so I proceeded. The money was deducted from my account straight away. The receipt and confirmation showed a large uplift for fees and taxes but I had paid by card. The charge on my card statement showed payment to *Hotel Ritz Carlton*. I arrived at hotel and as previously advised would happen I was asked for credit card, I thought this was for incidentals although the charge was high but I thought it would be reversed on check out. On check out the hotel charged the full amount for the stay, I still thought the transaction would be reversed. After I left the hotel I realised that there was no reversal of the charge. I contacted Ritz Carlton who said the booking had not been prepaid. After some considerable difficulty I managed to contact guestreservations.com who "handed" off my complaint to Priceline. A check on line shows that my booking was made through the guestreservations.com, fulfilled by getaroom.com, confirmed by hotelvalues.com and my complaint is now being managed by pps.priceline.com. I am currently out of pocket by UK ?930 for a booking which I paid at the hotel despite having already paid this organisation believing it was at very least acting for and on behalf of Ritz Carlton when taking the booking. This is an appalling way of doing business. Priceline have twice asked for proof I made the payment at the hotel which I have provided and now have passed on my complaint to "escalations" at Priceline but there has been no response. I have contacted "legal!" at Guestreservations but they have not replied either. I want my money back it should be a simple operation for whomever made the hotel reservation to confirm they did not pay for the reservation and to refund my money to me. There is another issue in that the original charge included an element of "taxes", if guestreservations has not paid the funds to the hotel then they have not made the necessary tax submission so they must be in breach of tax laws and regulation.
Guest reservations=hotelvalues=priceline. I had made a reservation for 3 rooms (over $4000) 9 months in advance. I had no idea this was a non-refundable reservation. I called 4 month prior to our arrival to change the date of our travel by one day--I was told not possible. I tried to add a name of another guest to one of rooms--I was told not possible. My family and I travel very frequently and I NEVER purchase non-refundable rooms on purpose. The refund policy must have been well hidden that I did not realize at time of booking. I was surprised by how inflexible the company was and I do not intend to use them ever again.
I booked a hotel room at Houston House through guest reservations, the night before my visit. I didn't receive a confirmation and when I arrived at the hotel, there were 2 rooms identically booked - I only needed 1. On the website, there were complications to enter my card number, I completed this request a couple of times, and it took 2 payments from my account for the other room that was reserved for us. I didn't move away from the payment screen yet it booked another room for me. I have emailed guest reservations and heard nothing. I am out of pocket for ?116 for a room that I didn't book and didn't use. Also, the only personal information for the booking was my name, not even my email address (which I documented at submission) was present on the check in form, and my address was a webbeds mailing address in Dubai; I do not live in Dubai. I feel really let down and the fact that I have had no response makes things feel worse!! I would not recommend this website at all.
I have been hit with this company before. I always book through the hotel itself. I thought I was booking through the company but I was not. This company pops up as whatever hotel you put in. It is so deceptive. Just like the hotel they allow you to pay up front so that you can save a bit on the reservation. I am now stuck waiting for an email hoping that I get my money back!! Almost 1200 dollars!! I don’t see why the internet lets them pop up like they are the actual hotel. I will update if I get my refund but I’m not feeling too good about it. I realize it is in the end my own fault but . so deceptive. When you book with Guest Reservations you are actually booking through Priceline which I didn’t know until Marriot told me.
I would be very careful using this provider - in fact, do not use Guest Reservations. I unknowingly booked accommodation through them even though I called the hotel directly and somehow ended up with a booking through Guest Reservations for accommodation interstate. I have had a family emergency and can no longer use my booking, while my booking said I was unable to cancel there was no reference in the terms and conditions policy that they would not reschedule the dates or offer a credit note. I did not want to cancel my booking as I did not want to lose $800+AUD. However, they are forcing me into a cancelation as they don't offer any other alternatives. As a "gesture of good will", they requested a refund from the hotel directly, but they, Guest Reservations and the hotel partner, are requesting private medical information regarding one of my family members in order for me to receive the refund... medical information that I do not have access to or permission to share in order to get a refund, this also goes against the need to know of the Australian Privacy Act as health information is classified as sensitive information and should only be given to those who need to know. I have requested that Guest Reservations update their policy to include the fact that they do not offer date changes or credit notes, but I don't think anything will change as they are greedy and not transparent/fraudulent in their business activities. I will NOT be using this service again and WOULD NOT recommend it to anyone else. They are scamming people out of money by not offering an alternative to cancelation regardless of the circumstances involved.
A total scam. I wanted to book through them, until I get the notification from my bank showing 1/3 of the price extra compared to the price announced in bold. I declined the payment, so I did not get any further email from the website, until I discovered that the payment had been processed anyway. This was also an error on my bank's part, but if I paid I should have received a receipt and then I would have been able to cancel the reservation. I received a receipt after complaining, and when it was too late to cancel.
Complete fraud. They add a massive 'Charge' at the end of your book which isn't clear until you complete your booking. Then only automated phone response. They mimic the hotels website so you think your booking direct. I got charged 94 euro extra on a 214 euro room
Booked a hotel for the weekend, advertised price was not what was charged by a considerable amount. Customer Service Number not working when I tried to cancel immediately afterwards. Have Informed my bank and raised a dispute. Hopefully I will get my money back.
Did a reservation. Got a confirmation but not follow mail for online check-in. Tried to resolve it by calling the service line (american number) and was on hold for about 30 minutes. This is not a toll free number so I have a phone bill exploding. The customer care did not resolve the issue and I had to fall back on local assistance.Very bad experience.I have sent several mails with a complaint and they do not reply. Is this how they earn money. I would like to warn you how the operate.Quick money, deceiving rates and no communication.
