Review Time
Thought my experience was going to be similar to others. On day 8 I called the firm. Took a while to answer but lady in spoke with assured me funds would be in my account by close of business today. & it is!!! Not sure why others have had a bad experience as their reviews did worry me but faith now restored. Thanks guys x
The whole process in selling my iPhone has been a misery. My iPhone 11 was in very good condition; no damage or scratches. I sent the phone off to be traded in for ?132. Then get what is clearly an automated email - on a Saturday - stating that my phone is scratched and that they’ll offer ?40.50. I reject the offer. Another automated email - they’ve re-examined the device (really?! during the weekend?) and now they’ll offer ?55. Again, not interested and I click reject. Then wait - another offer (this time on a Sunday). For ?90. By this time I’m so fed up I can’t face having to get the phone back and so accept the offer. That was on 13 April. It’s now 24 April and I haven’t been paid, despite my payment allegedly having been processed. Now I need to hear up to phoning and complaining to customer services and trying to get my money. The whole selling system is simply awful. I wish more than anything I’d just sold my phone locally. These people are time wasters. Avoid!
Ended up trading in 4 mobiles after the great experience with the 1st trade in. Easy and quick to fill in online form and instructions. Prepaid parcels delivered for the return and great communication as to what the next steps were and when payment would be made. Fair prices for trade in. I would definitely recommend and will be using this company again in future. Thanks again
I was given a quote of ?137 for my phone and, having sent the phone to UR, received a revised offer of ?86, because the phone was not "in pristine condition". I was surprised by this as the phone was a newly refurbished model that had never been used since refurbishment so could not be in more pristine condition. It even had the plastic protection on the screen and back.I rejected this offer and UR made two subsequent offers – ?100 and ?115. I rejected both of these and asked for the phone to be returned which did not happen after two weeks. I sent an email asking for clarification but did not get a response.I wrote a one star review here on check review and shortly afterwards was contacted by Kimberly from the customer service team. She said that the phone had been assessed as pristine but wrongly entered in the system as poor. Their systems then made the series of offers. She checked why the phone had not been returned and it was because Royal Mail had 'lost' the package, which in her experience meant it had been stolen. She arranged immediate payment of the full ?137Conclusion - UR care about their customer service and reputation but their processes and systems currently are weak and let them down.Thank you to Kimberly for sorting the problem so quickly once it came to her attention! If you have a problem with UR, post a review on check review - I got the idea from another reviewer who had got a quick response when posting a one star rating.
Frankly appalling service from UR.co.uk.I tried to sell my iPhone 11 as I have recently upgraded, I was quoted ?156 after comparing prices on moneysupermarket. The first time I was told I’d receive a prepaid postage pack which never arrived and after calling twice and being assured it was on its way, my quote then expired.I decided to give them another chance and just requested a QR code, packaged the phone myself and took it to a post office. I packaged the phone in its original box and included all the warranty docs and a lightning charger cable, then sealed it in a postage bag.A few days later I had an email from UR amending the quote as the battery was below 80% in efficiency (something that was never a term of the quote) and despite there being some minor scratches to the outer case through wear and tear - they then tried to allege there were ‘deep scratches’ to the screen. (I have used screen protectors from day 1 and there is not even a minor scratch to the screen). This resulted in an insulting reduced quote of ?45 which I can only assume is a sales tactic to drastically underpay for used phones as the small print gives you 72 hours to reply or they will take it as acceptance of the quote.Interestingly, when trying to reject the quote online via the email link, the revised quote was ‘not found’ meaning I again had to call directly to reject this.To top it all off I received my phone back a couple of days later in a battered box for a different model iPhone with no documents or charger included. My advice would be to avoid them at all cost unless you’re happy with an insulting offer for your device or happy to receive it back in a poorer condition than you sent it.I have now sold it on Facebook for slightly less value but compared to the hassle this has caused it’s a small price to pay.
If I could give zero stars I would. I wish I read the other reviews before trading in my phone to this company. Avoid like the plague and don’t make the same mistake I did. They may have good reviews for buying through them, but selling to them is nothing but hassle.I traded in an iPhone 14 256g in good condition, only light scratches - the usual wear and tear. My initial offer of ?371 was reduced to ?145 after reviewing- something to do with the battery health and charge cycles, as well as visible marks on the screen - yes, they are visible but they’re light and this is stated in the various quality grades when we state what condition it’s in. I declined the offer. A few days later I get a revised offer of ?165 which I promptly declined again. To my surprise, I get an almost immediate counter offer of ?200 because “ we hate letting devices slip out of our grasp so our pricing manager is making one final attempt to purchase your device in its current condition”. I wonder how many people just accept these ridiculous offers??? I’ve asked for my device back a few times now, called them, emailed, but I’m still waiting. I’ve secured another price of ?378 elsewhere but of course I need to get my device to them within a certain timeframe. For context, my husband traded his device in elsewhere, it was an iPhone 14 128gb which was faulty- it turned off every 2.5 minutes and apple wanted to charge ?410 to replace the whole inner workings of the device, when he traded it in he declared it faulty and the initial price he was offered of ?272.50 was honoured and transferred into his bank the day his device was received and checked.Utterly useless company, just give me my phone back before I take this further as there are clearly other people who feel the same way I do.
