If you look up who owns Sitelock it is EIG conglomerate ( Endurance International Group (EIG) Hosting,) they own about 100 other companies and many hosting companies including Hostgator , along with Sitelock . this company is highly unethical. .Sitelock is a total scam . I was with GoDaddy and they give away sitelock free version when you sign up , then all of a sudden after a few months you magically get malware. if you read real reviews in forums you will find this out to be valid. My new hosting company migrated it over and said no malware was found at all , yet Sitelock SCMAWARE said I had 65 infections of malware that would cost me ?120 to fix it. So I say , you make up your mind if they are genuine, but meantime I have found a website that qualifies what I discovered and lists all of EIG hosting companies they go by but sadly truspilot does not allow but if you google " Reviewhell IEG " it will be 1st in the list
I called Sitelock in a state of panic when my website was compromised 2 and a half months ago. I spoke with Blake from Sitelock and he was extremely knowledgable and reassuring. After working with Blake and the rest of the Sitelock team we were able to get my situation under control and things back on track. Had I not contacted Sitelock as soon as I did, there's a very good chance my business may no longer be around today. Thanks Sitelock!!!!
Almost two month ago have contacted Sitelock because my website was hacked and there was malware on the site. After consulting they offered me a package for 400 dollar which include removal of existing malware infection and access to team of cybersecurity experts for more complex repairs. During pas 2 month I have made more than 10 tickets called them many times and every single time they tell me the website is malware free and you site is not black listed by search engines. I doubt if it is a template email that they sent to me every time. However, they wasted my time 2 month and I have even pointed them the infection codes. And what is their argument that WE DON’T SEE THAT. Yeah if you are a cyber security you know that some malware are geolocation active and if you are a tech company which does not use any software like Skype in which I can show you what I am seeing you are out of the date or you don’t want to see the issue. Anyway, I sent provided them via email also many times screenshots but nope I doesn’t help. I HAVE STILL MALWARE ON MY WEBSITE and cyber criminals trying to steal visitors credit card and bank account information. After all, when i decide to cancel this service since it didn’t do anything for me they say it is not possible and you have purchased it for one year and you don’t receive any dollar back. I recommend no body to buy a service from them and it is not a fair business Sitelock.
I purchased their service, as HostGator said it's essential, and they took my site down to work on it. When I contacted them to ask what's happening, they said that it's standard for them to take down sites, while working on them.I've never heard of anyone taking down a site to remove some minor issues (instead of editing locally and then uploading changes).
