Review Time
UR appears to offer online prices, subject to their inspection, as bait to the customer that will not be met in practice. My own experience was based on an online price of ?99, against which I was given an in initial offer of ?55, a second offer of ?70.50 and a third of ?85 all of which I rejected. Their final offer of ?85 shows how low the initial offers were. Unlike other competitors, UR provide no description of the criteria used to arrive at the online price and in my opinion the reasons given in the offers did not reflect the phone which was in good condition for its age. In my opinion, the lack of criteria allows them to submit a bait price and make subsequent lower proposals without review by the seller. When I have reviewed the ratings of UR on check review, the majority of the reviews for their purchase (as opposed to sale) of phones are 1star and there is a common theme of offering well below what is listed on Compare and Recycle. They keep their costs to a minimum. Their "travel pack" was a grey plastic bag but it was left to the customer to provide a box and bubble wrap.To give credit where it is due they did return my phone in three days.
I’ve edited my initial 1* review to provide a more balanced and honest opinion of UR. I sent a 3 1/2 year old 128GB Iphone 13 Unlocked to them on the basis of an online offer of ?245 through Moneysupermarket.com and I advised phone was in ‘good’ condition in terms of the basis for the offer. 3 days after sending the phone I received an offer which was considerably lower ( ?85) and the two further improved offers (up to ?150) via emails over the next 2 days which I rejected, mainly on the basis that I was so annoyed by the initial offer. UR tried to call me to discuss but I didn’t want to engage and I had some email correspondence and I asked for my phone to be returned, which they did without issue. Then I had some further email correspondence with Kimberley who was very honest and transparent, clearly trying to make things right to my satisfaction which I appreciated but had no wish to engage. Kimberley called me today to try again to see if there was anything she could do to try to reach a resolution which I felt was great customer service but I explained by position had not changed. For me the first part of the service from UR was like dealing with a computer generated offer & when a human being became involved it was such a marked difference in terms of approach and customer care, really excellent but by then, for me, it was too late. I’d give 1 star for the first part of the service & 5 stars by the time they’d already lost me as a customer, sadly.
Offer acceptable prices to buy second hand phones, then 'revise' based on made up issues with the phone. Mine was in mint condition, but they claimed it was scratched and offered a tiny fraction of the original price. Don't wate your time with them!
Got a lowered revised offer because they claimed my phone was less than good, which is not true. Don't want the hassle of returning and finding another recycle service so reluctantly accepted their offer. Still have not received the money after 7 days despite they advertise fast payment and numerous emails to them. Very disappointed and will not use them again or not recommend
I'd previously used this company on one or two occasions by selling devices I no longer needed and was very pleased. However, I recently used them again and my opinion has completely changed. It took about 8-9 working days for me to to finally receive payment but I only believe it was down to my persistence in calling and emailing them, otherwise I believe it would have dragged on longer. When you try calling, it takes forever for someone to answer and they'll even cut off the call, before someone does so you have to call back and wait forever again. I'm not pleased about my experience this time around and I certainly won't be using their services again in the future!
