Ia ? ?m a landlord and until recently had my properties with Moores who provided a far better service; their lettings have now been taken on by Linley and Simpson. Having been with L&S less than 6 months I can safely say that it would be less hassle to manage the properties myself. Ia ? ?ve had terrible communication regarding tenancy renewal (over months!) and outrageous quotes for repairs. This does annoy me in itself but the reason for me posting here is the underlying tone and arrogance of the individuals that work at Linley and Simpson. In no way do I feel like a valued customer. There needs to be some serious thinking about customer experience in this organisation before they have no customers left.

Appalling letting service

Appalling letting service, hidden fees for even when giving your tenancy to their terms. No consideration to circumstance (covid) difficulties of getting new tenants in.

Repair

Very happy ita ? ?s how efficiently a repair I reported was dealt with. Excellent communication by Mia before and after the work was carried out.

Not great at all

I got told upon viewing that I had to come back because they didna ? ?t have the correct key. I came back the following day and was specifically verbally told, you will have a wardrobe and Chester drawers. The lift will be fixed. You will have 1 parking space and a fob, the walls will be cleaned.I moved in two weeks ago, it was advertised as the 11th and then got told the 18th, no parking, buy and build my own furnishing with no reimbursement, no clean walls, no fob. Car is at risk outside, Ia ? ?m out of pocket and the communication has been awful just being told nothing they can do or completely ignored.Complete miss sell

Great agents.

We have been with Linley and Simpson for a number of years now as Landlords We have confidence in leaving all aspects related to the management of our flats in their hands. They are always quick to respond to issues raised by our tenants which means we in turn can authorise repairs etc to go ahead with as little delay as possible. Kirsty, like all the agents we have had contact with in Leeds, was quick to pick up and respond to our emails and take the necessary action.

Could not be worse

I rented a house in Barnsley after a video viewing which is very common in London and that was my horrible mistake. The property was extremely dirty, smelly and the front garden was simply full of garbage in addition to broken fence. I couldn't tolerate couple of hours and contacted the agency asking to leave by any cost. The agreement was to pay the rent until they find another tenant which I did. The agency didn't repair anything at all during that period and I had to servive somehow with no hot water in shower for 3 weeks. What were really hard to tolerate were rude answers full of disrespect and unprofessional behaviour. I had to send more than 20 emails to chase the rest of rent to be refunded plus the extra amount paid for a fridge which didn't happen. After more than 45 days I received a refund less than that agreed by the branch manger, after many exhausting explanations and delays.

Won't use again

They will find the most minor and petty things to charge for ''Professional Cleaning''.It seems that this practice its use with all ex tenants

Worst company we've ever rented with

Worst company we've ever rented with. They do not care at all about rentals. Unfortunately we were forced to use them again as they took over the property from Preston Baker. I was put off using them previously when a "lady" named Sharon decided to randomly let herself into our house and walked into our bedroom while I was asleep. She explained she'd tried to make an appointment. Checked my email and sure enough she had..... 20 minutes earlier. 20 minutes notice!! Wow!So many problems had been reported to them regarding the property and they were just ignored. Forcing us to waste time chasing them up daily.Also walked into our property at the end of the working day to find viewings had been done without consent. Dogsh#t walked into the carpet and all lights/ heating left on to name a few problems. Will never use thus company again. They sit 6 feet away from each other and don't communicate. Staff are undertrained and incompetent. If you call them with a serious problem they will laugh at you. Worst letting agent in York. If I could give 0 stars I would.
