Review Time
I have had nothing but bad experiences with this company. We've been in the web business for many years and all of a sudden our server was "infected" and we were pretty much forced into paying SiteLock a fee for every site on our server to protect it. Not only do I feel like this company is a waste of money, but SiteLock has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have been trying to reach someone to help me remove sites from the account that we are no longer hosting, and they continue to bill me for them and never return my emails or calls. There are countless similar bad reviews about this company and It has cause my business alot of stress cost us alot of money. I see now that HostGator, BlueHost & GoDaddy are using them and I don't understand it. I've complained to HostGator (our hosting provider) about SiteLock, since they pretty much are the ones who referred us to SiteLock. But they can't do anything since SiteLock is an independent company.
Did not work. After finding my site down, I needed to do something fast. I spoke to Hostgator, who suggested Sitelock. They have no month-to-month payment options. The lowest is a whole year's subscription. But the program didn't work. You can only run one scan a day and if that fails, you can't do anything. Their support numbers did not work for me. Hostgator confirmed I'd set up the root directory for my website correctly, but still, Sitelock's "smart patch" failed to patch my website files.This is a disaster.
I paid for the 911 emergency package because my website got hacked. They told me they fixed it but it wasn't fixed. The scanner still found malware every day. I texted back and forth with them. Then they said they fixed it again and again it was a lie. Now my website is down again. Save your money. Complete trash service.
I cancelled SiteLock several years ago (atleast 3 years ago) yet, still getting emails (subject line: [Platform Digest] Your Weekly Website Scanning Results). Email says "Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for protecting your website with SiteLock. Below is your SiteLock Platform Digest for the previous week. You’ll find a high-level security analysis of the health and risks associated with your website. It’s delivered weekly so that you always have visibility into the security of your site. If you’d like to learn more about this report or speak to a website expert about your site’s security, visit our FAQs or call us toll-free at 1 (877) 257-9263."The email also has chart with "Malware Scan Results". The last email was dated 1/21/25. Are they scanning my site for free or just sending me auto-generated emails?Just wondering, if I was a paying customer, would they actually be scanning my site or just sending auto-generated emails?
