As many have already reported, I also had a terrible experience with the Domestika Plus automatic billing. I've bought 3 courses and was billed $200 for Domestika Plus, without communication of its activation. This is a terrible practice, misleading customer to get their money. Terrible customer service, terrible experience. They make it as hard as possible to reach someone and only offer standard answers.
Got cheated into paying $129 without warning. I've been buying their small courses previously and did not experience such sneaky way of being charged a lump sum without consent. Ive always supported them but they have become desperate and unethical.
I am going to make a Formal Complaint against Domestika for Misleading Subscription Activation and Unjust Yearly ChargeI am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with what I consider to be misleading and unethical practices on your platform.I purchased a specific course, with no intention whatsoever of subscribing to any additional service.Unbeknownst to me, Domestika Plus was activated automatically during the purchase process. I admit I may have missed a checkbox or fine print — but it is extremely misleading and unacceptable to have this option pre-enabled by default.After completing the course I paid for, I was shocked to find that a full yearly subscription charge of nearly €300 had been billed to my account a month later — without any clear notice, warning, or reminder.This level of opacity and lack of informed consent is not only disappointing, it borders on deceptive. I find it particularly disturbing that you maintain a policy article stating Domestika Plus is non-refundable, while enabling such subscriptions by default. This only reinforces my concern that this is a predatory and calculated practice.Moreover, despite being enrolled and completing assignments, I received no feedback, which is unacceptable for any educational platform, especially one charging such fees.I urge them to cancel this unauthorized subscription and fully refund the yearly charge immediately, f this issue is not resolved promptly, and I matter legally contact my legal representative, as well as consumer protection bodies.I truly regret having to take this route, but I find their practices deeply concerning and unethical. I hope they take this complaint seriously and address it with the transparency and integrity that all students deserve.
I’ve enjoyed lol the classed I took on domestika, I’m a self-taught artist and domestika is my go to platform whenever I want to expand my knowledge on a particular point of weakness/ strength. I took a class on animation and couldn’t believe my eyes when I actually animated my very first 15 seconds! Highly recommended.
Domestika provides a wealth of online courses at very affordable prices. The quality of the art course provided by accomplished artists, such as Sarah Stokes and Reha Sakar are exceptional. I am fairly new with water color paints and I learned so much from the videos and materials provided. I was able to work at my own pace and the material is available online so I could go back and review. The resources provided were excellent. I am extremely satisfied with the results and the progress I have made.
Unauthorized CAD 400 Charge – Scam Alert!I was shocked to see a CAD 400 charge on my credit card from Domestika Inc., despite only getting an email receipt for a CAD 1.99 course purchase. I never used any content, and there was no notification about this renewal. With no customer service response, this situation feels scammy. I demand an immediate refund—if not, I'll escalate the issue further.
I had a truly horrendous experience with Domestika. When I signed up, I believed I was only purchasing a single course. Somewhere buried in small print, they mention that you’ll be charged an annual subscription fee after a trial period. I missed that (my mistake, admittedly), but the real issue is what followed: • No reminder that the trial was ending. • No notification when they charged me. • $229 was deducted from my account without my knowledge - I only discovered it by chance while reviewing my credit card statement.Worse still, when I tried to understand what had happened, I created a new account and saw the exact same subscription (Domestika Plus) listed at $179 - $50 cheaper. So not only was I charged unexpectedly, I was overcharged compared to the current pricing.And the support? There is none. Only automated messages acknowledging receipt of my inquiry, with no real follow-up or human response.This kind of opaque billing and zero customer support is completely unacceptable. I’m disappointed, frustrated, and feel misled.
