I bought a discounted course on the Domestika site, which automatically signed me up for the month, without notification that after a month I would be signed up for a year. They have billed me $236USD for the year without notification. And when I tried to dispute it I was sent an autoreply denying my request. Paypal has also denied my request. Domestika is a scam. Do not sign up to this.
Interesting and varied courses but a complete ripoff. Seems like a great deal but ZERO communication when money is taken from your account for what you’ve bought. (I still don’t have Domestika Plus, so goodness knows what it was for.) Not worth bothering with the hassle of them having your data. I’ve deleted my account now.
I'm extremely disappointed with Domistika's practices. Without my consent, they automatically upgraded my subscription to a yearly plan, charging nearly $200, after I signed up for a course priced at $0.90. When I tried to resolve the issue, their support team didn't respond meaningfully. Instead, I received automated replies that didn't address my concerns.Their lack of transparency and customer-centric approach is appalling. It's clear they prioritize profits over customer satisfaction. To anyone considering Domistika, I'd strongly advise against it. Their business practices are questionable, and their support is non-existent. Save yourself the hassle and choose a more reliable alternative.
Have taken a few courses related to watercolor, drawing, and sketching. Loved them all! The scope and sequence of the courses I took were perfect for a relative beginner like me! I never thought I could draw but I’m learning step by step and now my husband keeps telling me I could sell them ( a bit over the top, but nice to have the encouragement !) I’m having so much fun!
I’m in this situation because I did not pay attention to the day I signed up from a FB for a $0.99 trial course. I knew I would have 30 days before it would become a $299.00 year long subscription. My credit card company sent me a notice when Domestika charged me the $299. I’ve reached out to them several times. No live contact and most of the responses I’ve gotten seem AI generated. I’ve gotten no consideration from them. So, if you see an opportunity for a low cost offer that converts to a year long subscription, be very careful and track the time before you jump in.
I am really enjoying the Drawing for Beginners course on Domestika. The projects are varied, requiring the learner to draw, paint different subjects with a variety of tools. So I’m learning new techniques and being challenged. The teacher,Puno is wonderful, fun and motivating. I would highly recommend this course to beginners and also those who’d like to improve their drawing skills and enhance their creativity.
I agree with other comments. I just wanted to watch one course so signed up - they don't clearly communicate that you only one month trial and then you get charged $560 Australian dollars. Any emails from them went directly to my junkmail so I was not aware this had happened. I'm hoping I can get a refund through Paypal but it's unlikely.
I was charged for a full year of Domestika after a 1€ trial, despite not using the service at all after the trial started. I reached out multiple times for a refund—no real help. Even PayPal said they couldn't assist. This feels unfair and misleading. I hope Domestika will do the right thing and process a refund for unused services. #domestika
