FRAUD : What they're doing is pure misleading advertising. They attract attention with a €0.99 offer, only to then bill over €240.Their instructions are far from clear, and judging by the numerous comments online, this is a widespread sentiment. They should seriously rethink their approach to be more transparent and avoid deceiving people. What's more, they regularly delete negative comments about them on social media (Instagram). An extremely negative experience!!
Echoing other comments, if you buy a discounted course from Domestika, they will add on a Plus12 (annual) subscription at $0. The fine print does state it will charge you $400 after the trial, but since this was added automatically it's very easy to miss. There have been reports that even if the trial is cancelled, one is charged anyway.
Free trial was added without notice and I was charged for a year subscription. I don't care if you have a no-refound policy, this is ridiculous and the fact that a lot of people are complaining should open your eyes. And I even advised people to get you courses: I'm certainly not doing that again...EDIT: EU consumer law, specifically the Consumer Rights Directive, mandates a 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases, allowing consumers to return items for any reason. This right applies to businesses selling to EU consumers, even if the business is located outside the EU. If a US website sells to EU consumers, they must adhere to this 14-day return policy for online purchases. For any EU resident wondering, you can report them at you national Dispute resolution centre you can find on the EU website!
I had a terrible experience with Domestika. They withdrew money from my account without any prior notice or consent, which is both unethical and unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I contacted their support team, I was told they have a strict “no returns” policy – even for charges I never approved in the first place.
They charged me for Domestika Plus ($136 for a year) without me asking for it and without even having a free trial. JUST LIKE THAT. And by the way, they have no refund policy. Of course they do. It's a shame that these courses are being overshadowed by these scams.
SCAMMERS!! This company defrauded me out of 400$ Canadian! I purchased a couple of 1.99 courses & was signed up for a 30 day trial. I was not notified. Then I was charged for a years subscription!! Apparently in the fine print of the 1.99 course it says this! Unethical scammers!
I unknowingly activated Domestika Plus and at the end of the month I was charged about €313 for a year. First of all, the quality and content is not worth so much. Second of all, no one can help me with a refund nor a payment plan since I cannot pay for this at the moment. And as you can see below, they respond with information that is not helpful to my situation. I've already contacted costumer service several times.
There’s a lot wrong with Domestika, starting with their support which is reminiscent of AI chatbots from 2010. The pricing strategy is awful too and the “community” is nothing more than a subpar social media network whose access is limited by the courses you pay for. Rubbish. The only redeeming aspect is that artists can diversify their earnings but I somehow doubt they’re adequately compensated based on course prices. I’d recommend going for any other tool out there. YouTube tutorials, for example.
