Just got charged $270 by Domestika without any clear reminder. No email, no heads-up — just a vague note buried in small print a month ago. Turns out I’m not alone: tons of people have complained about the same shady tactic here on TrustPilot and at the BBB.Yes, it’s technically in their Terms, but this kind of “gotcha” renewal feels downright sneaky, dirty business. If you're signing up for a 99-cent class, set your own reminder — because Domestika won’t, and they'll take your $270.I requested a refund. They said nope and pointed me to their Terms. So now I’m filing a dispute.
DO NOT TRUST THEM Domesika is as close to a scam as you gan get. I bought a single course from them, then a month later I get hit with a $329 non refundable 1 year subscription. Apparently by buying any course they sign you up automatically for a 30 trial of their plus service. Then after 30 days they bill for a full year. PayPal won't help. DO NOT TRUST THEM
I didn't buy a course for USD 249, but Domestika still took the money from my account. It's not okay to send emails with advertisements almost every day, and then send an email with information that now is the time to not choose a course! On the other hand, they should have told me that now is the time to re-register!! I am very dissatisfied with Domestika.
BEWARE!! I would give Domestika no stars if I could as I purchased a short course and then found that I was suddenly charged an extortionate amount for a Domestika Plus subscription ( ?280) which I DID NOT sign up for. I think this is disgraceful as I have emailed 4 times and just get no response. It is tantamount to theft and they should be reported to the relevant authorities. Do not sign up for anything or go near this company as you will not be refunded.....they honestly couldn't care less.
I am extremely disappointed with Domestika.I was charged $229.49 without any warning or clear notice that I was being subscribed. I simply purchased a few courses, and at no point did I agree to a recurring subscription.This kind of automatic renewal without consent feels misleading and dishonest.I have contacted support to request a full refund and immediate cancellation of this unwanted subscription.Be very careful when buying from Domestika — they seem to trap users into subscriptions without transparent communication.
So I've become another number of the thousands to have this happen to.I'm PRETTY SURE I canceled the Plus subscription as soon as the trail started when I bought a course. But obviously that didn't work.Now I'm going to live in paranoia for the next year for if they're going to charge me again SINCE YOU CANNOT REMOVE PAYMENT DETAILS.
