Review Time
This has not been a good experience. I’ve only had this security roughly a week or so and not by choice. I wanted to cancel the contract but was lied to regarding the timeframe and of course they believed the sales person so I’m stuck with a service that does not support my smart home. I was told that since I already have a smart home all of the features would easily be able to transfer to the Vivint system and that was false. My door keypad no longer works, no smart lights (I saw I would likely need to purchase other products to get my home back to actually being a smart home). I was told my smoke detectors would be linked only to be told by the technician that it was not true and that I could have them install their smoke detectors right next to my current ones which would be insane. They removed the smoke detectors from my product list but the price didn’t change. The buyout story was full of lies too and the salesman was just spewing off stuff to secure his commission. My experience with the security system is, if you’re not logged into the app you do not receive security notifications. Reaching their support lines is useless, I had one tell me don’t call back because she would handle the contract concern only to not receive an email like stated that day (I later found out it was because they listened to the liar salesman and I didn’t express I was not happy with the system), so I did call the next morning only to be offered $15 off for 12 months or 2 months free, both of which I do not want because I went off what I know was told to me the timeframe to cancel the service. I’m stuck with a company I don’t want servicing me. Beware of this company and their shady business deals. It’s a scam!
It is almost perfect, the issue is that the sensor of the camera is to sensible, the system is sending me a lot of false alarms stating that there is a person on my driveway and then I check the videos and there is nobody, it is annoying when you receive multiple false alarms while sleeping!
The cameras are tremendous ,The clarity and wide view you get is amazing. I had 2 outside cameras installed and i can,t believe the wide angle and how much they show. I havent used the system very long and am excited to see what it will do. So far it is just an amazing system.
Buying your first home can be a daunting task especially if you are 61 years old. The whole process can be a bit confusing. I know I wanted home security and to be honest I was a little picky about my choices. I did my research and narrowed the field down to three. The final decision came down to professionalism and trustable. Vivint won hands down. When Josh came to my home for the install it was like inviting an old friend in. He was knowledgeable, friendly and had the patience of a saint. I’m not the most tech savvy person and Josh showed me how simple and easy this system is to use. The product list and different service plans were tailored to meet my needs (and my competence value) I feel extremely secure with their products and look forward to upgrading in the near future, Vivint definitely comes with a very high recommendation from me.
