I had ordered a drum Mic Set from Thomann. After few years, i realized that one Microphone from the overheads, had less gain than the other. After contacting Thomann customer service, i returned the set for warranty check. To my surprise Thomann Sent me back a new set of overhead mics, in place of the old ones. even though i thought just one mic was defected. Normally a new set of these microphones cost around 400eu, and i didn't even have to pay for shipping, just register my package at UPS, and give the package from my doorstep.Overall Best customer service i had ever encountered. One minor gripe, is that i needed to send a video proof explaining and showing the problem, but because i got completely new microphones after using them for more than a year, it was a minor inconvenience.
I have been a loyal Thomann customer for years, but my recent experience has been beyond disappointing.I purchased a box pro DSP 115 speaker that developed serious faults within a very short time. Despite sending it back for multiple repairs in the last 3 months under their so-called 3-year warranty, the speaker came back each time with the exact same issues — distorted sound, rattling parts, and internal vibrations that make it completely unusable for professional work.Instead of honoring their warranty promise and replacing the faulty unit, Thomann keeps patching it up and sending it back, hoping I’ll just accept a defective product. I even sent them video evidence clearly showing the problem, but they continue to ask for irrelevant packaging photos instead of addressing the real issue. This is not about money — I’ve already bought another speaker from Thomann out of necessity for my business. This is about basic fairness and getting what you paid for. After months of delays, excuses, and being sent in circles, I can honestly say Thomann has completely failed to uphold their customer protection commitments. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, think twice before trusting their "3-year warranty" promise.I expected better from a company of this size and reputation.
I enquired about a big amp purchase and shipping it halfway around the world. Thomann responded within 12 hours (export department) and again within 36 hours (guitar technical experts). Staff were friendly and understood my situation. Knowledgeable and comprehensive answers to all the details that I requested. I hadn’t thought to shop Thomann before but very much a convert.
While my previous order was received damaged, I however decided to give Thomann another chance because issues happen and I try to keep an open mind: I ordered In stock speakers, since I needed it rather fast for a birthday, estimating that 10 days would be a reasonable delay (I buy from German companies on a regular basis). 5 days later the order having not been treated yet, I contacted the customer service who served me a generic message about... technical issues. When I pointed out that those articles were still displayed allegedly In stock on their website, I was told that indeed they are but changing it is not an easy task (being a web designer, I raised an eyebrow) and that Customs are taking time too. When I politely replied that I did not get what the Customs had to do with it if the goods have not even left their building, the conversation was shut down by the employee because the office was now closed. Welcome to the dystopian world of an online business where you are no more than a credit card...
I have nothing bad to say about Thomann. I ordered for the first time in 2016 on a separate account and the service, speed of delivery, high quality and diverse selection were already part of their business model back then. The prices are usually at least as cheap as elsewhere and often the cheapest. Of course, you can sometimes get a product cheaper elsewhere, but that's the case with all stores. I will definitely buy more from Thomann in the future.
