Booked a consultation to get a price for laser eye surgery. A guy called me up a day before and provided the price over the phone (which was 3 times more than advertised).Optical Express then proceeded to take a ?50 from my card as I didn't show up to the appointment?!?! The guy at the opticians cancelled it as he provided the price over the phone already.Called Customer Services on the number provided. Advised they would pass it on and there's nobody I can speak to about it.

However, due to high demand and the professional time allocated to each patient, a a ?50 non-attendance fee applies if an appointment is not attended, cancelled, or rescheduled within 5 days of the scheduled date. This policy is clearly explained at the time of booking and confirmed in writing.Our pricing starts from a ?595 per eye for Laser Vision Correction and a ?1,995 per eye for Intraocular Lens procedures, but the final cost is dependent on clinical suitability. A full clinical consultation is required to confirm eligibility and pricing.If your appointment was cancelled with the clinic, it is important that this is recorded centrally to avoid the fee being charged. As the consultation was not attended and no cancellation was logged within the required timeframe, the fee was applied in line with our Terms & Conditions.We understand your frustration and would be happy to review your case further. i had lense replacement surgery because of cataracts in both eyes...both eyes were done one after the other, in roughly half an hour...absolutely amazing results for me...the whole experience, from start to finish, was exceptional...all the staff are very kind, patient and really care about everything they do...

I havena€™t had lens surgery but I think this review could be helpful for anyone considering having it done.I visited the South Woodford branch as I wanted lens surgery. The specialist Kamleshwar was so friendly and knowledgeable, I had numerous eye tests and I felt comfortable to proceed. This procedure felt very safe and I was confident that Optical Express were the right people to do my surgery- they have the best equipment/machines and perform this surgery all the time. The next stage was to go to Harley Street for more eye tests. I was taken into a room with approx 12 different eye testing machines, my eyes were tested on each one - so thorough! I did wonder if other companies had access to all of these machines, I felt thoroughly cared for and felt comfortable that Ia€™d chosen a€˜the besta€™.Then, that evening I received a call from Kamleshwar (the initial specialist from South Woodford) to explain that I wasna€™t suitable for eye surgery as they had found a condition which meant that surgery would carry too greater risk. He explained the reason over the phone and then emailed me a link to my condition so I could find out more. A refund of my deposit has been arranged. I have to say, I am so grateful to a company who put safety before profit. I had no idea I had an eye condition which was picked up on one of their machines. They said they wona€™t operate if there is a risk and I am so pleased this is their top policy, there is no option, they just wona€™t operate. I would never want to risk anything when it comes to such an important procedure so Om glad this decision has been taken for me. So although I cana€™t have the surgery, I thought it might be useful to explain the process and also let others know that Optical Express views safety / risk as their top priority. I would definitely recommend to others.

The staff were so friendly, understanding and professional. Any queries were answered with clear and detailed explanations which gave me reassurance.The procedure was carried out with expertise in a clinically clean environment . Just wish I had had it done sooner
