They don't care about tenants or quality of property, they just care about getting your money. My house wasn't cleaned properly when I moved in and then they tried to charge me for cleaning when I moved out, despite it being in better condition than when I moved in. For example there was still a dirty bed sheet on one of the beds. The furniture was old and bad quality- one of the beds didn't even have it's original slats, had ones from a different frame balancing on the frame and the mattresses were gross and old. They are very slow at responding to repairs. My basement was flooding every time it rained and they kept sending incompetent maintenance workers who never resolved the problem. I had issues with my boiler which never got dealt with, they kept saying that an engineer was coming but they never turned up. They were increasing my rent substantially after a year so I made the right choice to move out. However they told me they would negotiate it down with the landlord and then sent mixed messages about the outcome. Because of these negotiations I ended up giving in my notice 1 week later than the 2 months required in the tenancy agreement, which they then charged me a ?135 extra for at the end of my tenancy (i realise they didn't break anything contractually in doing so but no one drew my attention towards the extra charge for handing in late, which given the circumstances I think would have been decent of them.)
Terrible, negligent letting agents. Linley and Simpson bought out my previous letting agent and they were shocking. The final straw was when they ignored a tenant's report of damp and it was only 6 months, and a lot more damage later, a routine inspection revealed this. They were then slow and unresponsive to get it resolved. I finally gave up trying to give them opportunities to resolve it and make it up to both me as landlord, and the tenants when they clearly didn't have the capacity - they are understaffed and the staff who are there are not skilled in property or customer service. Avoid.
Conversations with Linley and Simpson feels like speaking to the wall.Historically, every issue that we have reported with Linley & Simpson takes months to even get a response from the agency. They do not have any sense of accountability or responsibility. The only thing they care about is the rent being paid.I have rented with multiple agencies in the past and have had a very pleasant and seamless interaction with them. With Linley and Simpsons it feels like you are interacting with a kid who with a short attention span. So, it becomes your job to keep reminding them about the issues that are to be fixed.Horrendous experience with Linley & Simpson, not just once but multiple occasion.These guys still need to learn professional maturity, improve their processes and enhance communiation.
