I visit St Nicholas twice a month to teach a Tai Chi class for the residents. I always get a very friendly welcome from Lisa, she's a lovely lady who looks after the residents. The complex is really gorgeous, the gardens are beautiful and the interior is really tastefully decorated. It's always spotlessly clean and the whole place just has a really relaxing, friendly vibe.
We have just spent three nights in the guest suite at Coronation Lodge in West Kirby while visiting my parents. It was fantastic. The room and en-suite were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. So well equipped with a television, iron and ironing board and tea and coffee facilities. It really was five star. The Lodge itself is lovely and my parents couldn’t be happier. Stuart, the ward manager and Emma the sales coordinator are wonderful. They go out of their way to help the residents and make their lives as easy and happy as possible.I couldn’t recommend Coronation Lodge more highly.
Sachs lodge Torquay is a wonderful building with excellent facilities and beautiful grounds. The guest room is very comfortable, fully equipped with all you need for a pleasant stay whilst visiting a relative or friend living at the lodge. Jo the lodge manager is a real asset to the lodge. Friendly, personable, helpful and above all genuine (nothing false) she goes out of her way to help, assist and advise you. Our relative who resides at the lodge has not a bad word to say for her, just lovely in every respect. To summarise we always enjoy our visits to the lodge
The small retirement block I live in is one of over thirty developments bought by CEM in the summer of 2024. The hopes of most residents here were high, but so far a number of us has been rather disappointed. An example - when I quoted to a CEM manager the ethos proudly described in the Churchill Magazine I was told, "With regards to the extracts from the Churchill Living magazine, this marketing literature applies to all our Churchill Living built developments. Your building was not built by our construction team and was in fact built some years ago. To clarify, we have only taken on the management of ****** ***** since 1st July 2024 and were not involved with the build or the owners who took possession of the apartments previous to this." The inference is, CEM owners are rather second class citizens.Being bought by CEM has felt rather like being invaded by the Normans, with us as the Saxons. No one actually suffered an arrow in the eye I admit, but there is no interest in the wellbeing of residents, or the community we have built up over the years. The company constantly reminds us that it owns the building and the gardens. Deplorably it has no anti-bullying policy so if you have a neighbour who is a sociopath they feel no obligation to act on behalf of residents who may be suffering. It's all very corporate, with an eye to profits and shareholders, and so far I haven't found a beating heart. Fortunately we have a superb couple of managers here who were in post before 1066 (if you are still following my analogy!) We are also blessed with a community of residents who support and have fun together.
Chelmer LodgeNichola has been with us for a year now and she's been absolutely brilliant. I think we are very fortunate to have such a very kind and caring lady for our manager. No problem appears to be too much trouble for her, she deals with it. A 5 star lady.
I have been a resident at Moorhouse Lodge Huntingdon for 3 years and in my time here have been very happy. The residents here are very friendly and I have made some good friends. The location is ideal with shops, train station, bus station, doctors and dentist all within walking distance. The Lodge its self is well managed and we have a wonderful lodge manager, Roberta who goes above and beyond to help the residents here and organises events for us. We have keep fit, coffee mornings, knit & natter, bingo, quizzes, films, celebration days, meals out plus many more events all of which you can participate in or not. She is our hero in many ways and we know we are so lucky to have her. Our apartments are lovely and also a very nice guest suite for visitors. I love it here, it is a nice and secure place to live.
Churchill took over the Freehold in July 2024. The Area Manager, Neil, has been open and honest on all issues and helped the Homeowners Association resolve queries on finance etc with the previous freeholders. He is excellent to work with and a credit to Churchill, as is Priya, who stood in for vacant Court Manager position. Brook View Court is in a lovely garden setting, set back from the road but with easy access to all the amenities of Alderley Edge.
My Mother moved into Ash Lodge almost 3 years ago now and barely a week goes by without her telling me how much she loves the place. After 62 years in her previous house I was worried it would be be a wrench but not a bit of it. Ash Lodge is clean and well maintained with beautiful landscaped gardens. The lodge manager is worthy of special mention as his care and diligence contributes massively to the welcoming atmosphere as do the many events he organises on behalf of the residents.
