My husband and I have lived at Charlotte Lodge Eastleigh, for the last 18 months. It took some time to settle in from living in a bungalow in a quiet location to apartment living in quite a busy noisier environment. We had several temporary Lodge Managers but six months after we moved in we had a new permanent Lodge Manager, Trevor. He has made such a difference to the atmosphere at Charlotte Lodge. He is kind and generous doing whatever needs doing to sort out any problems the residents may have. He treats everyone the same and throws himself into any events he organises. He definitely goes the extra mile and is a breath of fresh air! Charlotte Lodge is very well situated with a park opposite. Just a short flat walk away is a shopping centre, doctors, bus terminal and train station, including an M&S food hall, fab! I just love the convenience of everything. I would recommend Churchill Retirement Living to others of our age.
I moved to Elgar lodge 2 years ago and if there is a problem at anytime I just go to Christine the manager she is always there weather it is about my flat or the internet or phone always there to help and put thins right plus if in need help in my flat such as plumber decorator electric I knows who to go to
Myself and a works colleague had the pleasure of working at Churchill retirement home Stourbridge. We removed the entrance doors and frame and installed a complete new fully automatic package. We had to block the entrance off from the residents but thanks to Marie (Lodge manageress) and Simon the site services manager residents were able to use side entrance and residents were very nice and polite about this. Many thanks to Marie for the help and advice we received throughout the days not to mention the teas and coffee. Thankyou very much it made it a nice and pleasant job. I visited Worthington Lodge with my Mum. Liz showed us around, she was friendly and helpful, she clearly cares about Worthington Lodge and the people who live there. The building was clean and tidy, and everyone we met appeared happy, I would be very happy if my Mum could live there.
My father has lived at the Farnham Churchill Apartments since they were built about 8 years ago. The apartments are beautifully designed and still look as good as the day they were built. The residents are all delightful, and they dip in and out of the communal activities as they wish. However, the best thing about Hawthorn Lodge is the Manager, Kayta. She is a breath of fresh air: always welcoming, shows a genuine care for the residents, pops in to see the most elderly people and checks in on those in ill health. She has also introduced more social events and has given the residence a far jollier feel. The raised beds for growing vegetables have been a hit with those who like to garden and also for those who miss their gardens and their home-grown vegetables. I could not be happier with my father’s choice of a place at which to see out his days.
Last year, we moved to McIndoe Lodge, East Grinstead. We chose it for its good location for trains and the shops and it had the apartment with the layout and position we wanted. Since moving in, we have met a group of very friendly fellow owners and enjoyed the social activities. The warm atmosphere is in great part due to the convivial and hard working lodge manager, who coordinates these activities.Gavin and Marian
Working as a contractor at Thackeray Lodge is always a pleasant experience. Mandy, the Lodge manager, is very easy to deal with and the Lodge is well run and filling up quickly with a good bunch of residents who always seem happy and busy about the place.
I would like to share my experience of Arlington Lodge in Royal Leamington Spa, as the daughter of my mother who resided there.We chose this beautiful retirement living lodge initially based on its location within a short walk to the town centre and Jephson Gardens. It meant my mother could wander in for a coffee and catch up and do her shopping independently, but that wouldn't cost a fortune if she wanted to catch the bus or get a taxi back from town.The Lodge is located along a beautiful, residential, tree-lined avenue that is peaceful and safe, with parking and sunny, manicured gardens. That was the second reason we felt the Lodge was a good fit. I wanted to make sure my mother felt safe and relaxed but could confidently invite friends over. The Lodge takes security very seriously, so Mum knew that if she wanted to go away and visit friends for a few days, her apartment would be safe. She wouldn't have to worry about it.It was also important that Mum could see greenery, as we all know it's good for mental health, and she had her own patio and garden area to tend to, if she wanted, although the official gardeners look after the gardens.The Lodge, most importantly, has an emergency Careline system installed, which offered peace of mind to us both. In fact, all apartments are designed to make living easier as you get older, with little maintenance and most costs known in advance (a bit like how an all-inclusive holiday offers reassurance when it comes to outgoings).Mum was very independent, although she did attend some of the events organised, and the coffee mornings were a great way of finding out what was happening and catch-up with others.Arlington Lodge proved to be a great choice for my mother and for me, as it took away worries for her and worries for me. I knew she enjoyed independence yet wasn't alone; she was safe (really important to me), and she was happy in her home and garden.
