The guy was not at all empathetic that it might take me more time than most to complete my Will, I have adhd and need people to be patient with me and i get anxious if people interrupt me all the time which he kept on doing and carry on talking when I could not hear him on hold. but I don't think he knew what it was??. I also have a heart condition at one point he was shouting at me which started to make me feel like I was getting angina, as I had to put him on loud speaker as i could not look at my intentions as they spanned several pages and I am not a performing octopus. At the end he told me off for having a previous Will in the first place?!I only wished to delete 2 people out of existing and make a new one, rather than adding a codicil at the old company and this was the cheaper thing to do I started to wish I never moved my Will here. He was unaware about charity issues and how donations of 10 percent of total income less the taxable amount have a tax advantage of 36 percent rather than 40 percent and said my information about this was "out of date" he did down the previous company I wrote my Will with, for no reason and seemed aghast they were still practising I am 65 with some memory issues so there is no way i could remember all the names and addresses of my nieces and nephews of which there are 7 without referring to the old Will. He said I was not listening to him and that I must not refer to my old Will at all as. it must be about what I want but it is as my wishes have not changed since May last year at all....he started going on about this when I had a patient waiting at my clinic and i told him I had one minute to get there ...but unfortunately his table side manner was quite difficult for me to work with. he did not seem particularly professional more like the kind of conversation you would expect to have on a multi telephone call centre where they don't care at all- robotic. . Not personal or friendly at all. Sorry I did not think much of it. There were prying questions about insurance life - so guess they are sharing the information or selling on data to life insurance companies to make extra money though he told me they don't offer it and also questions about the value of my home contents another rat was smelt about data leaks. My previous Will company asked me no such questions..he also insisted on the legality of executors date of birth? Not necessary? The whole thing took over 1 hour and half and we are not finished yet. Very stressful ...He also said the money for the charities would come out of my estate first which is not right? it will be taken at the end and you need there is a need to clearly define how this should be taken eg from the residual and it should be updated every 3 years or so depending in your income. etc it will come from the residual estate
Talked through everything every step of the way by knowledgeable people.When forms arrived, stickers on each and every signing we needed to name. So easy.Had to phone for advice and a young man called Azzam was so polite and informative, nice to know such firms still exist.
Dreadful experience and stressful. They claim they will do all the paperwork all you have to do is sign it for '? ?19.99 and all done in 30 days. I was sucked in and contacted Legacy Wills in August 2024, the forms and paperwork were endless and it is still on going. In fact it all became to much and I cancelled the process. It had cost me nearly '? ?1,000 which they will not refund. Saying there was a 14 day cooling off period. At the time I didn't realise the process would take nearly a year. I am 74 year old pensioner and even with my son helping me it was long and complicated process. Please beware of this company.
