Bad customer service

I put a complaint in about a missed appointment and nothing back. I've now advised them of errors following another appointment and heard nothing. Overall very poor service.

Helpful service removing my anxiety

Phone lines were busy but the ' call back' system was helpful and saved me time. Azzam the staff member calling me was polite, patient and explained the system clearly

Legacy Wills have been a great support

Legacy Wills have been a great support to me to understand the importance of having a will put in place properly in order to protect your loved ones when you are gone. The customer service is impeccable, so I do strongly recommend them; they are very helpful especially to the novice ones like myself.

Very good service and advice

Very good service and advice. I'm very pleased with the resulting Will and the price I paid. The last time I had my Will drawn up I was charged well over '? ?100 and it was only a fairly simple one as was my Legacy Will. I recommend them to anyone considering making their Will and I will definitely use their services again if the need arises.

Beware the hard sell

This company is an exemplar of the maxim that if something looks too good to be true, it probably is. Legacy Wills advertises cheap will-writing services but applies extreme pressure to upsell costly additional services, far exceeding the advertised price. They do not appear to be accredited by any recognised professional body (such as the Society of Will Writers or the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), so there is nowhere meaningful to report this extremely sharp practice to, so proceed with the utmost caution. My wife and I wanted to sort our wills, so when I saw the company'???s Facebook advertisement, I enquired. The representative advised that mirror wills would cost us '? ?49.99 and confirmed the price as the total cost, with no mention of further charges. Payment was required up front, which in hindsight should have been a red flag. Be under no illusions. This company has absolutely no intention of allowing you to escape having paid only '? ?49.99.When the consultation came it became clear the company'???s intent was for us to pay far more. During the consultation, we were urged to appoint their sister company as executor (with extra fees), change our home ownership basis, pay for will storage, and set up four Lasting Power of Attorneys. We were presented with figures: '? ?1,994 up front, '? ?498.50 over four months, or '? ?166.16 over twelve months, plus a supposed discount (to '? ?1,850) for immediate payment. The '???interest-free'?? instalments were misleading, as the up-front discount effectively acted as interest.Sales tactics were aggressive. We were given grave warnings about estate '???attacks'??, having an invalid will, and our child being taken into local authority care if we didn'???t buy the extra products. Declining these brought repeated warnings and references to our call being recorded, which was clearly intended as a veiled and sinister threat. The We have a three-bed semi in Hornchurch not the Rockefeller empire! The '??upsell'?? portion of the call was clearly scripted and well-rehearsed as opposed to being tailored to our individual circumstances, notwithstanding that Legacy claims that it offers these additional services under its '???duty of care'??? to the customer. This section of the call took as long as taking our instructions. This hard-sales process was NOT conducive to the completion of a sensitive topic such as will-writing, where clarity of thought is paramount. My wife and I left the call absolutely exhausted and emotionally drained. After the call, we received an instruction document was littered with careless mistakes, misspellings and misstatements of our wishes, which took a good couple of hours carefully to review and correct. The final will, sent to us by post without first sending a proof by email, also contained mistakes, with new clauses added without explanation. My queries on these were answered poorly, necessitating several rounds of questions to get to the root of the answer. A specific question about why Special Provision 18.2 of STEP should be disapplied was never satisfactorily answered, and I was advised with respect to the 28-day survivorship clause that '???Any professionally drafted will would have included these clauses, including that of the survivorship clause, without discussion with you'??. It'???s my will, not yours, and more to the point this is inaccurate as some wills have survivorship clauses of different lengths.Eventually, we received a broadly suitable will for the originally quoted price, but not without a fight and considerable stress and exhaustion.Frankly dealing with this company made me feel grubby, and being on the wrong end of their bait and switch operation could leave someone not as strong willed as us out of pocket by the best part of two grand. Legacy Wills don'???t appear to be regulated by anyone (with the exception of for financial services) so there is nobody meaningful to complain or report them to.Legacy Wills is extremely proud of its high Trustpilot score and I have no doubt that it will reply to my review in the same way it does for others '??? by saying it is a shame that my experience doesn'???t match the others that its 4.7 score is testament to and by claiming that it can'???t find my details on its system. The 4.7 score appears to be a result of relentlessly questioning the authenticity every negative review, under the guise of verifying that '???each and every reviewer is a genuine client of Legacy Wills'?? and thereby maintaining the integrity of the system. However, they do not appear to pursue authors of positive reviews with equivalent vigour.I would not use Legacy Wills again, and nor would I recommend them.

Straightforward and professional experience.

Initial consultation was done over the telephone and tailored to our needs, the Wills and the Power of Attorney very thorough and explained well. When all paperwork arrived the online help section regarding the signing of said documents was very well explained although we did have to contact Legacy and spoke to Farheen who was most knowledgable in handling our queery. Utmost professional company.
