Review of Guestreservations
Made a reservation for 4 nights in a London hotel costing a total of 1572. The site added unexplained additional charges of 1150. Making the total bill over 2700. A cancellation fee of 1900 was added to this. None of these charges were explained prior to paying with the credit card - see below for similar experiences. Buyer beware. Expensive mistake! The site appears first on the search engines and looks like the hotel webpage - do check that it is in fact the hotel's website where you are booking.Upon further investigation I called the hotel and they told me that the booking have been done through Booking.com! Not even directly with the hotel. Whilst the hotel and Booking.com were willing to provide a full refund on the booking, Guest Reservations would only allow the refund if I paid the 1,900 cancellation fee. In other words they would take 1,900 from me even though they would not be out of pocket! This of course was not an option as I would still have to pay for the hotel on top of the cancellation fee. Whilst the hotel and Booking.com tried to do the right thing, GUESTRESERVATIONS.COM will ensure that there is no escape.Don’t be fooled, called 6 times to have the issue resolved to no avail. The site has responded below and provided their customer 'care' email address supposedly to try to resolve the issue. Let's see if they actually do the right thing... For the time being AVOID like the plague. Checked the site for fraud and lo and behold they have had to settle with the FTC in 2017 - I wish I had checked sooner. I hope this review helps others to avoid my faith. I may have lost my money but I don't want others to unwittingly fall into the same trap.
