Review of Cem
Mum has been at Mellor Lodge for 2.5 years. Mum suffers with Dementia, but is still able to enjoy independent living with help from family and carers. The atmosphere at Mellor Lodge is warm, welcoming and very friendly. Coffee mornings every morning and get togethers in the afternoons. There is always something going on where residents meet and play cards/board games or just get together for a chat. Regular social events including pizza night, fish and chip supper and cheese and wine parties are attended by most residents and Mum really enjoys these. The other residents always make sure Mum is included and has a great time, it has a real family feel. The Hotel Manager, Karen Goodley, is an Angel from heaven itself!! Nothing is too much for her, she makes sure all the residents are well looked after, and she goes the ‘extra mile’, as far as we are concerned for Mum. She checks in on her regularly, and has more recently assisted us with ensuring that the introduction of carers and community nurses has run smoothly and completely stress free. Karen arranged the new key and door fob and gave us a key safe to ensure they can access Mums apartment easily. What could have been a stressful time for us as daughters, has just been like a walk in the par, Karen has helped us so much. She even had her own WD40 to ensure the key safe opened easily!!!!
