Brand new car fails very first MOT?

Took my lovely new motor in for her first MOT yesterday and to my surprise it failed on the omissions. I had a word with the mechanic and he said there is absolutely no reason for this car to have failed except for a manufacturers fault. It was a little bit annoying but happily enough my mate Alex from MG didn’t just sell me a car (for over 11 grand) he sold me peace of mind with an amazing 7 year warranty .. So I gave Glynn Hopkin a ring first thing this morning expecting them to be mortified that they’ve sold me a dicky motor and do everything they could to rectify the situation. Oh but it didn’t quite work out like that! As soon as they answered the phone they did everything they could to squirm out of it and made the most outlandish excuses!1) The manufacturer warranty only lasts 3 years( I asked if that was from the date of registration which is the 29th of September, but apparently it still isn’t covered under a different warranty?)2) You shouldn’t have taken it to Kwik fit, they don’t do MOTs properly (I think they probably do, it’s there main business model)3) Your warranty is only 3 years, hardly anything is covered after that.4) We don’t know how the car has been treated (You do, as I’ve had it diligently serviced every year in line with my service plan to ensure that my 7 year warranty is not invalidated, in fact you serviced it on Friday and sent me a little video explaining what fantastic condition it was in)I perceived and asked them to book it in and they said that they can’t look at it until the 10th of September. I politely explained that would be outside of the 10 days for a retest which means I would have to pay for another MOT after they have fixed the issue that they sold me the car with and I would have to take an unpaid day off work and requested at the very least they could fix the faulty car they sold me and run it through the MOT as a courtesy. I could almost hear the lovely receptionist shrugging her indifference and she told me again it was my fault for taking it to Kwik fit. There wasn’t a cup of tea or free packet of biscuits in sight this time and my hero Alex with his mirror shined shoes and winning smile was nowhere to be seen with my 7 year warranty he sold me. The reason I took my car to Kwik fit and not MG was because I couldn’t possibly imagine that a 3 year old car, with 17k on the clock which has been serviced every year would have a single problem, also MG is about 10 miles from my house, they charge a lot more than anyone else and every time I have the car serviced they try to rip me off for ?400 worth of tyres I don’t need which are half the price in the tyre shop up the road. Unwilling to accept that after all MGs lovely sales patter and videos they sent me and lovely emails asking if they could provide any further assistance, would you like a valuation on you car sir? Would you like an upgrade? You’ve been randomly selected for a great deal on a brand new car .. I asked how the repair was going to go. I was informed that I had to drop the car off at 8am and they would call me with an update, I could take advantage of a courtesy car for ?35 a day if I so wished!Well, I did some mental maths and we are now at about ?280 this is all going to cost me because they sold me a faulty vehicle? I asked if there was anything at all they could do to help me out? Well, I was sure I could still hear the indifferent shrugging, but now I was also treated to some huffing and puffing and was spoken to like a naughty child! I agreed to the date of repair and rushed home to check my warranty, which is more like a list of broken promises. To be honest, it’s just a list of things that aren’t covered!Oh Glynn Hopkin MG Chelmsford, I’m not angry, I’m disappointed 😔
