We were very interested in a property put an offer in then had the misfortune of dealing with Ben Holmes in Ilkley branch. Our offer was accepted then we get the condescending chat where he is sounding like your parent telling you off. We live a couple of hundred miles away. I tried to negotiate with him for us to start paying the rent 3 days early then collect the keys 3 days later. He was completely inflexible saying we had to collect the keys on Tuesday one week later from having the offer accepted by the landlord. He also said we had to travel from Hampshire to Ilkley to do to an ID check before we moved in. He had no consideration for me needing to take time off from work to do this. I called him back to tell him this is impossible. Ben then admitted there was a way around it by doing a post office ID check and moving into the property three days later. He had really annoyed us with his rude and controlling attitude we pulled out of the property. Customer Service counts, he needs to brush up on his customer care skills and go back on courses. Oddly enough the property went in 24 hrs of us pulling out. It felt like he was trying to put us off by being extremely awkward, inflexible, obnoxious and rude.
