What made my experience great here at King's Lodge Maidstone, is the very warm and welcoming meeting I had with Selia, our Lodge Manager. I had met Selia back in the summer of last year when the Sales Estate Agent, in Maidstone, took me accross for a viewing.Selia is such a natural for her role. She goes over and above to ensure that everything that needs doing is done. Particularly whenever anybody needs any help, assistance, she is there. She is super efficient and has a real knowledge of the workings of the building and apartments. So if you can't understand how to work your meter, or your heating, she is there for you. Selia has a brilliant sense of humour, always smiling and engages with the residents and their families or visitors. If you want the answer to anything, she will either tell you or find the information for you. Selia is definitely a godsend, she sometimes joins in some of the bigger social events. She is without doubt, a key figure who is very efficient and professional and also fun. She has been a godsend to me and all the residents here speak very highly of her and how she engages with everyone. I can only speak about living here at King's Lodge, but from my point of view, Churchills Retirement Living have done a fantastic job on creating such a stylish and elegant accommodation that is a pleasure to live in. The communial lounge with coffee bar, furnishings, decor and seating is great especially as it overlooks the communial landscaped gardens. I feel like I am living in a 5* hotel yet it is my home and I feel blessed I found King's Lodge. My daughters are so pleased for me and they know I am happy and safe with my new lease of life.I was widowed 4 years ago, then I suddenly knew it felt right to move into an apartment. I had had enough of being on my own, in an area going downhill. I had no life and I knew I had to step out of my comfort zone.I have never looked back, no regrets. I did the right thing and I am so happy. I have no more gardening or hedge trimming, no more buildings insurance and much more. Here at King's Lodge, everything is on my doorstep. Walking distance to shops, buses, train stations, there is even the Hazlett Theatre within walking distance. Many shops including charity shops. Also within walking distance is the river which has pathways you can walk along. Not to mention the boatrip you can ride down river to a local riverside pub and riverside back.Really good range of shops and supermarkets, and local buses that can take you by bus to local villages and pubs. Finally, importantly, bus service or car drive to Maidstone hospital, just 15 minutes away.Churchills do seem to have found the winning formula.King's Lodge is perfect for a new life with new friends.
