Some criticisms but good food

1. I like the food a lot but come on guys, its been like a year since you said recipe cards for 1 or 5 people are here, and they still arent. The current recipe cards even HAVE enough room for two extra columns.2. Food waste is real with 1 person recipes cause im constantly sent ingredients for 2 people and just have to measure out or use half of what Im sent and then the packets are open, so what is left over, I have to scrounge into some kind of knock off meal so it dosent go to waste which I rarely do because the whole reason I use Gousto is so I dont HAVE to faff around myself, or end up throwing it more likely outcome.So yeah, please work on your 1 person stuff Get the proper ingredient quantities sent, and the recipe cards properly showing this information.

Terrible customer service response

Ive been a loyal weekly customer of Gousto for almost 7 years! Thats 400 plus boxes ...I really love my food and recipes. But...I had a problem today that unusually led me to call the Gouto customer service number that I had to Google as it wasnt easily accessible oh the app. It was a very frustrating and unsatisfactory experience Im sorry to say. The first person who I spoke to sounded like she was half asleep and Id woken her from her slumber. I would have expected a more responsive initial response when calling along the lines of hello Christopher how can I help you? Instead there was a long silence and I had to initiate the conversation. Please listen to the recording Gousto and you will hear. It was a laboured experience where I tried to explain I didnt understand what she was saying and trying to explain what my issue was. I asked to sp3ak to her manager and she said there isnt a manager there. She put me on hold twice and eventually just hung up! Called back ...The next person I spoke with was slightly better but still couldnt help me and didnt respect the fact Ive been ordering food from Gousto for many years and knew what I was talking about when it came to ordering on the app.I was asking why a surcharge of 9.99 was being added on recipes I have ordered many times with no surcharge? I had no response that assisted me.I was so disappointed by the encounter that I will never call customer service again. Sad when Ive been such a loyal customer for so long. Shame. I have checked the app,again this morning 21st and there remains a surcharge of 9.99 still on my order. WHY? Ive ordered these recipes before and they have no surcharge and I cant understand what is going on. I know the boxes have increased by 1.26 but this is extreme. I cant even delete the recipes to start again, What is going on Gousto ?

Really disappointed with Gousto

Really disappointed with Gousto. I found the recipes complicated to follow and use a lot of pans 3 for mac and cheese!! Some of the recipes are quite bland and the portions are tiny. I had to buy extra chicken for one recipe as it was so small. I cancelled the subscription over a week ago but have been charged for another today. I contacted customer support but they are useless the agent kept contradicting themselves so I??ve no idea if I??m getting my money back or not. If I don??t get my money back I will be reporting this to my bank as they can not just take money off people when a subscription has been cancelled.

A complete con. Placed one order. Enough food for two people turned up?I only wanted to order for myself. Didn??t want food waste so didn??t order again. Gousto decided they would order on my behalf and then help themselves to 52.72 from my bank account. Customer care said I would have had to cancel the order 5 days before delivery. Gousto placed the order and took money yesterday not leaving me the chance to cancel on time not that I should have to . Don??t care what Gousto policies are?. I don??t want the food and I want my money back.

Customer service reps lack brain cells and are infuriating to communicate with. As a result I have cancelled my account which is no great loss as we were tired of the consistently rotten vegetables.

Sadly after months of good service and efficient purchases a Driver From YODEL who Gousto use threw our food box on our door step damaging the box and contents I reported this to Yodel but the next week our box was NOT delivered at all? On contacting Gousto customer care they did not seem concerned and said they would investigate but only privately and we would not know the outcome? No offer was made to replace the box or apologise for this incident, therefore after months of good food and service we have cancelled our contract with Gousto we feel we have no choice as the company clearly have no interest in customer relations, we are a 74 year old couple and these were our meals for the week ahead, now we will have to shop for some meals to replace the Gousto box, this is NOT satisfactory! The company are responsible for the box until it arrives safely at our address .

Gousto admin

Was on a monthly subscription for Gousto however were really only wishing every 2nd month so would cancel the month before and this worked for a while until this month. Ordered set of meals and checked on app when my next delivery was and that was fine it was two months hence as requested. However after finishing the meals on the Sunday got an email on the Monday to say a delivery of 4 meals would happen on the Tuesday. I tried to contact Gousto but was directed to a chat only. The following took an hour to conclude. I pointed out that I had an email advising a further set of meals would be delivered the next day. I had not ordered these and the chef apparently had chosen them. I am Celiac and they were not all GF. I was offered 20 off but said no I did not want them. Was told I could freeze them or give them to family. Was then told could not return them as order was already being processed. Why then send an email the day before knowing no corrective action could be taken? I have now cancelled my account. So beware!

Completely satisfied

We have had no issues with anything over the last 5 weeks of using gousto. The food arrives on the date we have arranged it to and we even get a text message of an hours slot to make sure we know when its coming. The quality of food is excellent, the veg is fresh and all the spices and condiments are measured out and separated for ease. We would highly recommend to the point we have brought buy a gift weeks for gousto for family for birthdays. All the perishables come in a smaller box and the massive ice blocks keep everything fresh. We havent had to pause the subscription for our holiday yet but it seems straight forward to do on the app. This service has opened our eyes to a wide range of meals we can have since I have become pesciterian where as previously we were just eating the same meals over and over which meant we had become very board of food. Its a lot cheaper than we had originally thought it would be and is actually saving us money and there is no waste of anything as even when it says to discard part of a vegtable our guinea pigs then get to have an extra treat. So I think they would give it 5 stars aswell.

Missing Recipe Cards

I was really happy to see Gousto arrive in Ireland so I ordered a box.Sadly the box arrived with no recipe cards, ironically they sent me a folder for the recipe cards.I contacted the customer service team and spoke to Carole, who was pleasant and nice, she offered to give me them as PDFs which obviously was good so I had the instructions, but not good as my eyes are not the best so would still need to look at my phone.I cancelled my account as this was not a good first impression. It seems they dont really have a retention policy. I wasnt hoping to get something for nothing, but if Id have at least been offered to have the cards sent out to me, Id have stayed, but there wasnt any attempt to do that, or keepy custom. Back to Hello Fresh I guess, even though theyre not as good.

Lots of offers given at first but nothing for long term existing customersFresh ingredients a lot of the time look like the small vegetables that no one would pick up in the supermarket. When I raised this I was told everyone has different appetites not great

Absolutely disgusting!I received a delivery on Saturday 22nd Feb, and then cancelled my subscription as soon as delivery was taken. This however doesnt seem to mean anything to Gousto, as apparently I still had a box pending, and theyve taken another payment out.When you cancel on Hello Fresh or Green Chef, your subscription is cancelled right from that moment, and no further boxes are sent. Gousto however, have no idea how things work it seems, and you have to cancel your subscription, and then manually cancel any further boxes, even though youre well within your time limit, and all to be offered a 30 refund.Absolutely disgusting from this company, I wont ever be using them again.

Don't bother with gifts/vouchers.

Tried to use a gift voucher to claim a weeks trial of gousto given to me by a friend. Process couldnt have been more convoluted and wouldnt recommend gifting anyone a gousto subscription gift card whatever.Food that I tried from my friends sub was fine, but nothing you couldnt do with a little bit of initiative.

We love Gousto, but their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced!

The food and recipes are great. But, recently I have been very disappointed by their customer service. We were waiting for a delivery that never came and was sent a 5 credit as an apology very late in the evening. After contacting customer service live chat the next day I raised a complaint as the app showed our box as delivered and it had not been. As a goodwill gesture Shumeera assured me that she would refund the total of our box. After I had said thank you for the goodwill gesture she said that she would actually cancel the refund as she could see a 5 had been credited to our account which I was not aware of as the email I received had gone to spam. Regardless, how can you offer a customer a solution and take it away from them? You have not solved the situation. You have made a loyal customer that speaks highly of you on social media and to their friends very upset because of the way you have dealt with this situation. If you want to keep your customers look after them! The reason you book a certain delivery date is because that is the date you will be available at home. You did not even give me the opportunity to select a new date. I am currently between my house and my poorly nana??s house who has Parkinson??s. I have had to miss an important doctors appointment to drive home and get the food delivered on a date I never selected to avoid it from going mouldy on my doorstep.

Rotten fruit/veg - £1.50 offer of compensation.

Started well but service and product go down hill very quickly. We have had meat quality issues, rotten fruitveg, food with very short use by dates so you cannot decide what you have on what day.Complain and it falls on deaf ears, they will just offer 1 or 2 refund off your next box. Absolutely insulting offer of resolution to a meal that is not complete. Then they say, you can go and purchase the item that is bad, they expect you to travel to a shop especially for their error.There are other companies out there doing this service, we strongly advise you to stay well clear of gousto.In response to your message Adam sorry but my wife has been in contact for some time this afternoon about these issues and has stressed how insulting the response has been. In reply, no I do not wish to click the link and go through the same conversation we have already wasted our time on today, Gousto made it very clear that when it comes down to your error and poor serviceproduct, Gousto are truly not bothered?. Until a bad review maybe. We have cancelled our Gousto and will not be returning, your effort is too little too late.

Not very impressed with delivery

Not very impressed with delivery provider Yodel at the moment, I have just started my journey with Gousto but already thinking of cancelling as this has brought me more problems then joy. My first parcel was stolen from my front porch last week although was redirected to my neighbour, gousto death with it well and refunded me the money, today I am awaiting for my second parcel and dont have any information from Yodel at what time I can expect the parcel? No time? Nothing? So does that mean I need to seat all day at home on Saturday? It is a bit pointless, if I have same situation next week then unfortunately would have to cancel my gousto subscription.

Box not delivered six weeks in a row. Gone to the same random house every time and theyve had the cheek to ask me to go and retrieve it myself. I do not pay to have to go and retrieve parcels myself. Ended up without dinner some nights had to order takeaway I cant afford on others. Even though their whole jig is no takeaways! Save money! theyve cost me more than Ive saved. End up repeating myself over and over again after being told that I, a disabled woman on her own should go and search my unsafe neighbourhood for a parcel, Because nobody bothered to check in with the shipping company as to why this has happened. Refund everything Ive paid. Use the money youre scamming out of others train your staff somewhat. Useless customer service. Theyve hung up on me, Left me on read, Refunds have not been processed. Takes hours to get an answer out of them. I need my money back. Youve left me without it and food. Disgraceful.Go with any other company. Like HelloFresh or the likes. Dont bother wasting your money on this scam company.

Issue with fish/meat sources and quality!

I used to be a loyal regular customer of Gousto and recommended them to friends and coworkers. I liked the great variety of recipes, great portion sizes and trying so many different cuisines. It made me enjoy cooking. However, I took about a year off using their boxes as I went travelling. I recently started them up again and upon receiving the first box was very disappointed to notice the haddock, although fished in European seas was packaged thousands of miles away in China, only to be shipped back to Europe! This is terrible for the environment from a supposed BCorp business who claim to have sustainable practices. I would also like them to implement the ability to select ??free range chicken?? on all of their chicken recipes. The last box I looked at ordering, there weren??t any free range options at all and it was at that point I decided to cancel my subscription and I won??t return until they have better quality and sources for their meat and fish. Also I noticed the dates on refrigerated items are a lot shorter than they used to be in 2023 and the veg doesn??t last as long. This has all been very disappointing as I used to love cooking with Gousto!

Avoid. The quality is not there anymore

Cancelled my subscription. Have previously used with no issue, but this time around, the quality of the ingredients had been terrible. Not only this, but the dates promised are not always accurate. The last few deliveries, the meat goes out of date before the date the recipe suggests. You can complain and you are offered a small credit, but when it happens consistently so you have to go to the supermarket to replace anyway, it takes away the convenience and you are paying for convenience. When I complained further, I was told I had enough days for the meals after all, and it didn??t matter that the dates weren??t met. So basically, you have to fit your plans around what they give you, not what you were told when you ordered. I spent an hour talking to them and got nowhere. Found them very unhelpful, and would avoid ever using again.
